I need help with my truck lift kit I put 2 inch block on the back on top of the 2.5 inch block that's factory do I add both blocks together to determine what size keys or spindles to put on the front so in the back is it considered a 2inch lift Or do I add all the blocks together and have 4 inch lift

I have torsion bar suspicion but I got 32s mud tires on it and I didn't know if 4inch spindle would be too high make tires look small so I was thinking a 3inch spindle but I can't find anywhere that will tell me what size shocks to get for the back if I get the 4 inch spindle so you have 2 inch shackle and a block both under the leaf

The neat thing about lifting a 2wd is it is really inexpensive compared to the 4wd trucks. I have 7" of lift which cost right about $700 in parts. Here is what I did to lift my 2wd Edge: 4" Lift spindles from WheelNParts (found on eBay/Amazon, the ones sold by Maxtrac are the exact same). Came with a 2" lift shackle for the rear - $320 This is what I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lift-Kit-4-F...xUU-Ac&vxp=mtr The rear will be a tad bit lower than the front. I had 33x10.5's but you should look something like this... http://www.fordrangerforum.com/membe...-13-2014-a.jpg If you add a short AAL (add a leaf) the truck return to the factory rake. I paid $40 for some random eBay leaf. If you decide your truck is not tall enough then you can pick up a Performance Accessories 3" body lift for about $300. This is before the AAL but you get the idea.... http://www.fordrangerforum.com/membe...skinny-33s.jpg Then you should be able to clear 35's without rubbing (provided you have the proper backspacing). http://www.fordrangerforum.com/membe...umhos-04-a.jpg Spindle lifts do not alter the geometry of your front suspension and since the body lift only lifts the body off the frame new shocks in the front are not needed. I did run the factory shocks in the rear for a while with the AAL and shackle without any negative effects bu8t swapped them out for some Superlift 4" lift shocks from Summit Racing eventually. Hopefully whoring out my truck helped give you an idea of what you want to do. As stated before you can crank your torsion bars for an additional 2" up front. An alignment is highly recommended afterwards. Also, if you end up installing lift spindles the recommendation is to replace your ball joints and tie rod ends at the same time since you have to tear the truck down that far anyway. This is what I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lift-Kit-4-F...xUU-Ac&vxp=mtr |
Thank you that was very helpful I ended up getting a 3 inch keys front shocks and rear shocks im gonna take out the 2 inch block in the rear and add one solid 3 inch block in the back and eventually im gonna put the 3 inch spindle on it but I got sent some shocks for the 3 imch lift and the mechanic saying there not long enough but the top gun customs from eBay are saying it is comfirm fit fromt and back shocks for three inch lift so I'mma looking for another mechanic to get a second opinion

Ok so could I just put the 3 inch shocks not crank the keys and add 3 inch spindles
|
Man cause I've already got the 3 lift kit with the shocks so I guess im gonna just use the shocks and put spindles on instead of the keys I've had a time mam I had 4imch spindles and the mechanic I was going to get to put them.on and he told me I needed shocks and so I sent them.back and ordered the 3 with keys and they sent me wrong shocks so.i had to wait to get new one and the mechanic said they were still to short so I called the manufacturer and they said to get a newechanic and that it was confirmed fit for my truck so this has been aessed up situation so I got on here to see if I could get some straight answer

Stacking blocks is never a real good way, especially a 3" on top of a 2". Make sure that block is tapered as well to keep your pinion angle more friendly to ujoints.;) Oh, and use new ubolts. |
