Should I buy this ranger?

Hey guys im 16 years old and currently drive my parents old minivan but after about a year Im ready to buy a car of my own. I've been thinking about a ranger since September and was wondering if yall could give your opinion on this ranger I found on craigslist.

Does is look good? also how would it be for someone who isnt use to driving a lifted truck. I figure it wouldn't be too big of a difference since its only a 3" lift and the trucks is pretty low to the ground to begin with. Any feedback is appreciated thank you!

Doesn't say if it's the 3.0 or 4.0. If it's rust free and a 4.0 I'd pay around 4500 for it. 6500 is way too much. If it's the 3.0 I would pass.

Welcome Noey, Glad you found us. Have fun and enjoy FRF. Find one that you can do your own work on. Only 90% tread after 4 months and he wants to get rid of it already?
Sounds like someone elses trouble & hes asking 2300.00 too much. I have a 99 with the 3.0 and normal tires on it and it can't get out of it's own way when it was running let alone with those big meats. I won't mention gas useage.

The guy selling the truck needs to add more info.
It looks nice enough but you need to know more about it.

Looks like an ok truck. It's got some body damage. Price is too high though. 6500 is what I paid 4 years ago for my 02 from a dealer, and it came with a 2 year warranty.

With body damage and knowing that being that big he probably had it out pushing it, the truck should be more than $4500. The same truck down here in Atlanta sells for $4500 all day long with no rust and a stack of service records. You could make an offer, but I'd keep looking.

Not for that price. When I bought mine, it had a busted transmission. PennDot said the guy could ask $6500. I told the guy he was high; bought it for $2000.

I'd pay $3,500 for it. But keep searching, because you can find some newer ones for that price

Re: Should I buy this ranger?

Ask him if he'd be willing to take it to a mechanic for an appraisal. Should cost under $100. Tell him that you'll be happy to pay whatever the appraisal costs, so long as it comes up with no major issues.

If he's willing to do it then it's probably a good truck and I'd say offer him $4.5k. If he isn't willing to do that then he's lying about it's condition and you should pass.

I'd pass. Download an app like Mokriya and have alerts sent to you when a new Ranger is listed.
