Remote Start Install Assistance
Is there anyone on here who might be able to help me finish installing a remote start? I will make a more detailed post if anyone can help.

Re: Remote Start Install Assistance
So here's what I'm working with:

The door locks I can finish myself (haven't had any time). I would like to know what remaining wires are necessary for the remote start. 1)My first question involves D2D. I believe that allows me to connect to an external computer and read information from the ranger. I don't want/need to do that so I'm assuming I can install without D2D. The directions say to cut the connector but then connect to a +12V source. Is that a constant source or ignition ON source? 2) I have no idea what any of the satellite harness connections mean or where those wires would be located. 3) I don't plan on using any of the anti-theft stuff so the only wire I would need on the 5-pin remote start harness would be the tachometer input, right? 4) I also have no idea where to start with the 9-pin Main Harness. Since your truck has pats system you are going to have to program the module and you need 2 keys to do it.

Re: Remote Start Install Assistance
So I managed to get everything working with the help of a wise forum member. I will be posting some general instructions later on.
Jswifto, I only had to use one key to program the PKALL. Rangers made after July 2000 need 2 keys for the PKALL. I'm sure it's different for each type of bypass. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk |
Re: Remote Start Install Assistance
The BARE-BONES wiring for the Avital 4103 One-way remote start and PKALL bypass requires only a few wires. The ones highlighted are needed at a bare minimum:
