Hello from the Lower Hudson Valley of New York
 

Hi, and thanks for having me in your forum.

I recently purchased a 2010 Ranger Sport to replace a Subaru Forester. One goal that I have for the truck is to haul all the gear we take on our family car-camping trips to the Catskills. We typically take two cars: in the Ranger we'll have the bikes on the back (trailer-hitch mounted bike rack) and all the gear in the bed. I've made one trip w/ the Ranger already (with some gear and bikes) and it worked out just as well as I had hoped.

The first thing I'm looking to get out of this forum is advice on options for covering the gear in the truck bed (e.g., w/ a tarp.) On my recent test run, we were not loaded to capacity and the weather was dry. However, I expect that in the future I will not be as neatly packed and I'll want to protect some of the gear from the rain.

At some point I'd also like to explore options for towing a small camping trailer.
