Link pics from album here?
 

Tried to copy the BB code to a thread, and it didn't work.

Didn't see anything...

Tried to copy the URL with an IMG tag, and that didn't work. Only saw the URL on the screen...

What did I do wrong? Do I have to host these at another hosting site and link them back here?

Once uploaded to your album you can (right click) on the image & select "copy image address" then paste that using the IMG tag and it should work perfectly.

Or, you can use another hosting site & perform a similar method as well.
