88 ranger wont start

It's bought my first ranger it is already modified as I explained in my description. It ran and drove extremely well with plenty of power for the first couple days I had it then came to a stop in traffic and rpms dropped and it died now I can't get it to start. Motor cranks over getting spark at all plugs didn't have pressure in the fuel rail I replaced the fuel filter fixed that problem but still no fire starter wire is loose but still functioning. I cannot think of what it can be now please help!

What is your fuel pressure since you have replaced the filter?

Turn key on Without starting the motor. Should be 40 lbs. Test pressure at valve on rail. If no squirt no pressure. Fuel pump not working.

Check the fuel pump relay (green on passenger side) and the inertia switch (passenger side carpet).

Bump what Collierdog said; check electrical if you don't hear a "whirl" from the tank when you turn the key to "on" but don't start it.

The fuel filter probably killed your fuel pump
