Ditto here, new Ranger owner in Washington D.C. First time post but I have a random question; anybody have good advice for winter weather driving? I'm talking snow, ice, etc. I have a 2004 Ranger xlt 4x4 that was fishtailing and lurching last night on thin black ice. I weighed down the bed with sandbags today but I'm still worried about traction. Ideas?

best advice is just not to drive in it if at all possible. These rangers hardly have traction on a dry road. Much less black ice. If you have to drive use very light throttle id say. Weight in the back is also a good move.

I never had any issues in either of the 4x4 rangers I owned. But yes, adding weight to the back does help.

Either way, its ice. Pretty much everything is boned on ice.
