85 SAS questions
Ok, so here's the deal, a friend of mine gave me an axle to put under my 85 ranger. It's a Dana 30 from a Jeep. I checked it out and the pinion is above the center line of the axles, does this mean it's a high pinion? Also, is it wider or narrower than the stock 7.5" rear end? And how to I find out what gears are in it?
Any info on any of this would help. Thanks |
As far as the width is concerned, just measure it. Also, the width and gearing should be stamped or have a metal tag that is stamped attached to the pumpkin.

the Jeep Dana 30 is 60" WMS to WMS I beleive the Rangers are 58" if you need ANY info on the Jeep axles let me know. I LOVE jeeps. I have had 3, a 93 Grand Cherokee, 92 wrangler lifted, and a 93 Cherokee Lifted.
