Caitlin: the '03 EDGE

First, before I tell you anything about her, I want to apologize. I got this truck on June 18, and was going to wait a month to put this up, because before then I had exams and no time to mod. Afterwards I did a lot of mods and forgot to post along the way. She is a '03 Edge with a 3.0 and a 5 speed stick. I got her with 104xxx miles from the original owner. While he mechanically took care of her he hated that he bought a ford and removed all ford badges but the one on the airbag (that he tried to). What I have done so far is a seat swap, some minor mods I am forgetting, and replaced all the badging. Picture time? Sure!

When I got her:

Sorry, I'm on mobile so I can post a max of 5 pics that turn out sideways.

Next thing I did was a seat swap fro the stock seats (that were in great shape and later got sold for $80) to the beautiful seats my stock XL Fleet Ranger came with:

That same day, I wanted to track down the electrical issues I was having (turned out to be a dead battery from sitting a year) and swap the steering wheel for a leather one.

Engine bay:

Attachment 136740

Little did I know the wheel is stubborn and took 5 guys (not including autozone), 3 days, and 3 broken wheel pullers (autozone guys didn't believe they weren't working and broke them) for us to give up.
I still can't get the damn thing off, but every timeI visit the jy, I pull many off with my bare hands in disbelief 😧.

So pics of failure:

Next, I decided to get my CHMSL working, the guy said he had tried to fix it but nothing happened. I checked the fuses and the wiring and nothing wrong so I almost give up when I check the bulb and it's blown! 😂 So I order LEDs off amazon and get those in with a new housing I had been holding onto (the current one had the leak)

Pic time again!

Fast forward a few days and I'm at a garage sale. I spot a Ford rim, ask if it's for sale, and what it's off of. Turns out it'll fit my truck and since I need a spare, I decide to buy it. Now the price the guy told me was $15, so I pay him. As I'm carrying it to my truck, he asks where I want the rest! He sold me 4 great rims for $15 when I thought it was 1! 😄

The rims:

Finally I think that brings us to the last 2 days. I have spent lots of time at the jy, looking for things I want/need for 2 different Rangers (finally fixing up Penguin) so I have gotten *many* badges of all sorts an expo bezel to customize, and possibly an OHC

Batch #1:

From today:

So I took all the v6 escape badges they had in there, the newest Ranger they had (actually 3 of the 4) was a 1997 and the 4th was a '94. Can't remember what was what but one was a splash and one was a STX. Suprising to me was that 3 of them also had power bucket seats and a center counsel, and that all had rolled so bad that all the seats and counsels were completely destroyed. 😢 and something I have never seen in a Ranger: a 6 disk changer in the backseat area!

Enough rambling! I almost forgot I picked up a shift knob! (But I'm not going to tell you I spent 4 hours wrenching on my own trying to get that f-er off before I gave up and found out the dang thing is splined, not threaded 😡) so now I have a shifter waiting to be cut up and jb welded.

(Btw: that pic is after that 4 hours and it's still dang tight.)

Lalst thing of catching you up so far: I passed this milestone, and withen the week plan to pas 108k!

Haha, that's actually a joke that led to the name! I wanted my next truck truck to be a girl because whenever something happens (some bad driver almost hitting me and I avoid somehow or some offroading victory) I always pat the steering wheel and say atta girl, but when I got the truck, I had a hard time saying it felt more like a she, and that was right when "Caitlyn" was everywhere and new so I liked that name when my friends suggested it!

Time for an update, I went to the Jy today and got some things... a replacement window flare for my driver side, a white instrument cluster, and a fake wood expo bezel which will probably go into Penguin.

as of now, I am probably going to add blue leds to the IC but leave the green paint on. Anyone who did this think it looks bad? I am hoping I can drown it out or have a cool tint.

This weekend was busy and fun!

Plasti dipped my grill (I know a mirror is missing... you'll find out later)

Attachment 137639

I have never seen anyone swap in 06 mirrors and make them completely body color, so I did.
(Donated my mirrors to someone in need because no Ranger should have flags)

Well, I went to the jy to find a bedliner and a fog light. No good liners, and closest light I found was a 2003 Exop. Long story short, it doesn't fit, and trying to take off my broken ine, the tabs on my bumper to mount the light broke off. Does that mean i need a new bumper to even put one on now or has someone gotten around that?
