Gears slipping or overdrive issues?

I have a 2002 Ranger with 335,000 miles, replaced motor at 290,000. I keep up with scheduled maint. At highway speeds, 65+ mph but really around 70 to 75 going up hill, it feels like my trans is slipping when I push the gas. I had my mechanic check it out and he says he can't find anything wrong with the trans. I have had 2 other people tell me it sounds like it is slipping in and out of overdrive.

First of all... WOW! thats a shitton of mileage.lol

Second, have you checked the fluid level in your trans? And is it the original tranny, or has it been re-built?

Yep it's a lot of miles. I do 226 a day minimum. It is the original transmission and I have had it serviced regularly and not too long ago. My mechanic drove it and checked it out. It did not do it when he drove it and his diagnostics did not show anything. More details...RPM's are about 2500 at highway speed (75 mph), pushing the gas for inclines I get a small vibration, engine revs and RPM's jump to around 33-3500 and there is a brief loss of momentum as if I was in neutral for 2 to 3 seconds. It has happened on flat road but not often and once at a lower speed (55). It does it more when everything is heated up.
