Problem with Reverse Lamps

Hello to all members, I have a problem with my pick-up and I would like to receive your opinions about it.

Ok, I have a Ford Ranger 2001 XLT, V6 Automatic 3.0 4x2.
The problem is when I use the reverse, as we know when we put the indicator into R, the "white lights" turn on in the back of the truck, but the ones that are above the rear windows doesnt turn on, but when I crush the break pedal, the red lights turn on in the back of the truck and also in the ones that are located above the rear windows.

Here you have some photos to show you in a better way:

I already checked the lights and they are Ok, seems that the connector is not receiving electricity when I put reverse.

What could it be?

Thanks, and excuse me for my English, It is not my mother tongue. ;)

That's because those lights aren't back up lights...

So whats the purpose of those lights?

djfllmn 06-10-2014 12:50 PM

They are cargo lights

Re: Problem with Reverse Lamps

Oh I see, but how do they turn on?

djfllmn 06-10-2014 12:54 PM

Rotate the dimmer switch all the way up till it clicks

Re: Problem with Reverse Lamps

Sorry for my ignorance, but where is the dimmer switch?

----------

Oh ok, I located it, so I will turn it all up, and wait until it clicks. I will respond you when I do that in a couple of hours, thank you, I wil give a try and then tell you what happened.

They also go on when you open the doors with the dome light.

They did on my 88 and 93, which I bought both new, and I did not mess with any wiring. My 08 and 11 do no have cargo lights.
