The Mysterious Cabin Air Filter

Does the Cabin Air Filter exist?

According to a thread I found on this forum, most believe that it does not.
http://www.fordrangerforum.com/gener...ir-filter.html

However, I have found 2 links on the internet that reference a Cabin Air Filter for 1998-2003 Ford Rangers.

I am having some A/C issues and heard that changing the Cabin Air Filter could resolve my problem.

So what's going here? Has anyone here ever changed the Cabin Air Filter?

I am curious also...

My 99 does not have one

djfllmn 06-11-2014 03:56 AM

Rangers never had a cabin filter

GLH 06-11-2014 05:03 AM

No mystery.

Rangers never came with them and a cabin air filter has nothing to do with A/C

I've looked & can't find any evidence of a cabin air filter in mine.

lol the first link says only for the 4.0L, and the second one says only for the electric ranger haha!

guess that means my 2.5L is SOL!

I don't think 4.0's cabins are any different.

No Ranger in the History of US sold Rangers, ever came with a cabin air filter.

Would a cabin filter help after eating Mexican and a couple Corona Lights ?

No, but charcoal lined shorts probably would, and yes, they really do make 'em. :D

Alright...I took apart my dash couldn't find any place to put these damn filters...They don't exist. Why they sell them online, I'm not sure, perhaps to sucker people like me into buying them. Thanks for all the replies and discussion
