2001 Ford Ranger Problems?
 

hey i just bought myself a 01 ranger edge 2wd. i just want to know if there are many problems with them and what i should do to prevent them. Well the check engine light was one and i put the scan tool on it and it the code was p1400. i have looked up the code and it is the egr or something else, but i cant think of its name now. i just disconnected the battery to clean it because it had some corosion on it and when i go it back together i started the ranger and drove it around the block and noticed that the check engine light was off. dont know how and why it turned off because of disconnecting the battery. but just let me now if there are any problems with these rangers, thanks

check engine lights usually go off when you disconnect the battery but it will most likely come back on if you didnt fix the problem
