check enginge light, code: P0455
 

after about 20 minutes of driving the other day my check engine light came on. put it on the obd code reader and came up P0455 which means EVAP control system big leak detected. i erased the code and the check engine light has not come on again.
would it be possible the code came on for no reason?
should i worry about it?
also where is the EVAP cannister (pictures would help)

a loose gas cap can cause that code ive done that one

same thing happened to me about twomonths ago so i reset it and it hasn't came on since. i dont think its a big deal.

The fuel filler tube is exposed to your wheel well. If it gets rusted it can cause this code. It is possible that as the vacuum builds in the gas tank as the fuel diminishes causing more pressure on a weak point on the filler tube. I have also heard topping off the tank all the time can cause this by allowing fuel into the EVAP system. The system needs this dead space to work properly. It's worth checking.

Believe it is under the bed by your gas tank, as that is where you will get evaporitive emissions, which is caused my fuel evaporating. Diesel doesn't do that HA HA!!!

i thought that might have been it cause it has lines that go right to gas tank and looks like a canister, just every website said it was charcole black and under the hood.
