Mine doesn't have a harness to plug into, You can get aftermarket kits for a harness though.

Now heavy is the trailer? Does it have brakes? If so, you'll need to get a brake controller wired in for that. You can get a hitch any where and a four prong adaptor that plugs right into the wiring harness. I'm not sure about a seven prong that would be needed for trailer brakes. Check out www.etrailer.com for options. They are not neccessarily the cheapest but they doo seem to have everything out there.

being a boat trailer the chances of it haveing electric brakes will be slim, if anything it will have surge brakes which require no special equipment on the truck to tow it. you will need a hitch, class III or higher and a trailer light wiring harness if you dont have it already. those can be found at any trailer supply store or auto supply store. also wouldnt hurt to see if you have a trans cooler (if equipped with the auto trans) and maybe upgrade that to help keep the trans temps down while towing.

If you have the factory tow package, you just need to get the reese sleeve and hitch ball. If you don't, you should go to a trailer place and have a whole thing installed.

thanks for all the info. i went to that etrailer.com site and saw hitches with a 2'' opening and a 1 1/4'' opening. does it matter which one i would get or would i have to see how big the boat trailer is in order to know which one will fit

Re: tow package?

the boat will be a 2 incher. you want to get a class III hitch, not class II.

Where exactly ventura? simple question is in it in ohio? cause if it is, i might be able to help you get a new one for cheap.

Re: tow package?

There is a lot more options available with the 2" hitch than the 1 1/4", plus the weight capacity is higher. Even with my CR-V wich is only capable of towing in the 1 1/4" class, I went with 2" because of the better options.

ah. well to ship it cross country, it probably wouldn't be worth it. cause i know a guy who has a couple new ones he's sellin. but to ship it, you might as well of just bought one there.
