Mike 69's 2000 4X4 Off Road build.

About 6 weeks ago I purchased my 3rd Ranger I have owned, so I figured I should start a build thread. Not planning to go crazy, just some nice mods. This one is a 2000 Extd Cab 4 dr, 4X4 off road. It has the 4.0 V-6, 5 speed auto, L/S 8.8 with 4.10's, has the triad luxury sport bucket seats medium graphite, center console, AM/FM stereo w/cassette & CD, PW, PM, PL, tilt wheel, cruise, fog lights, & a tow hitch. So far the only mod I have done is the throttle cable, made a big difference in throttle response.

Looks great! You should consider taking the seat cvers off and washing them and that interior would look even better

I have the harness made up for the Explorer OHC install this weekend. I removed the r/s windshield post molding, the r/s sun visor, & the dome light lens.

Started the Explorer OHC install today. Measured once, twice, three times then cut the headliner & mounted the bracket.

Your work is very clean. Nice to see professional quality craftsmanship like that.

Might just be the picture, but its hard for me to tell the scale of the wiring harness. Is that all for the OHC / what's it all do? And whats the length of the harness?

And I really like your center console, is that stock on the super cabs or did you get it out of an Exploder or something?

Thanks for the compliment wingman358, The center console came with bucket seats which were an option, but if your truck is an extd cab you could get the l/s seat & shorty console from an Explorer & bolt them into your Ranger.
One of the harness's goes to the temp sensor which has 2 wires which are 18' in length, the other harness 2 wires goes to the back of the radio & 1 wire goes to the GEM module, all 3 wires are 8' in length. I haven't connected them to the short harness that has the plug on it that connects to the OHC, I will do that after I run the wires down the "A" pillar. The short section that comes off the short harness with the plug goes to the dome light & are 30" long, & the ground wire which has the ring terminal on the end is 10" long.

Today I ran the wire harness I made for the OHC down the r/s windshield post & under the dash, ran the 2 wires to the dome light & hooked them up & got the light in the OHC working. I lost 1 of the screws to the dome light I dropped it & cant find it. Installed the OHC but I have a gap of about 1/8" at the back. I will mess with it after Christmas.
