Default First attempt at an object removal

My friend caught a nice bass, but did a lousey job holding it for a photo, it looked like he was flipping the bird, so I tried cutting off his hand using the clone stamp tool and the healing brush in PS elements 9
here is how it turned out. not bad for a first try.

He was then wondering if I could get his hat added back in haha! Nope, he needs to get his camra man to aim better next time!
