I just got mine last week.. Having lots of fun messing arround with it.
I had PS Elemements 7 I was using before. It is a bit different & does a lot more.

CS5 is already out...I am still using CS2...

Yea, but you have probably been using it for 4 years.. I am just getting my feet wet with CS. Ive been watching a lot of tutorials trying to learn the program..
So far, not a lot is sinking in.

Whats the best way to learn the program? Books, tutorials, trial n error??

I learned in my computer class, but I'm also pretty computer savvy. I would suggest tutorials online, like the one's where it will guide you step by step on making a cool image. I did one where you start from scratch and make the windows vista logo. That helped me a lot, and its also entertaining. Also trial an error is a good way to learn to. Just get random images off the web and customize them. Once you get the hang of it you will have fun.

I like working with layers in Photoshop Elements 7. But in CS5 it doesn't display the different layers you are working on under the pic. It shows them off to the side. But I can't seem to figure out how to select a certain layer to display in the window that you work from |

I'm not sure on how to get JUST the one layer to show up on it's own window, but I know when you click say, "layer one" and its over the background, you will be only drawing on layer one and not the background....There should be like a little eye symbol or something where you can hide other layers.

Nope. All I do is crop & adjust lighting, color & sharpness. I really need to spend some time with it.
