This is about 20mins from my house in the George Washington National Forest. Where we are is called Dry River. You can drive across the river and hunt or just take a nice ride. Some spots are a lil iffy and they have been cracking down a lot on people going off the trails. I could have easily drove through the rive sense it was down and might have came up too the top of the tires but that would be the time I get stuck and have no one to pull me out. Where the lake is, is called Dry River dam. We use to go swimming there a lot but they have sense prohibited it. Everyone would jump off the tower into the water and cook out and have a good time.
As you can tell with some of these pictures my camera is on the downward spiral of going south. It has been a good camera for the past 6 years but I think its time to get a new one.
Also take note of the pictures of the dog playing in the water. You will see towards the end she all of a sudden decided that it was too deep.

Nice pictures. Looks like a nice place to go and just relax away from everyone.
That lake and tower look like a good time to bad they wont let people do it anymore.
Its a great place to go and relax. Where I took the pictures of the Ranger and the bridge about 100 yards to the left is a trail that goes back about 1/4 mile to 2 campsites. There is tons of trails on ether side of 33(the main road that goes through GWNF). Only a few are still open due to people being dumb and trashing them. It use to be really nice and then people started leaving all their trash around, digging ruts and driving off the trails. It didn't take long for them to start closing trails. The few that are open are some of the best ones. Me and my buddies try and make it up there when we all have a day off together.
This picture cracks me up, looks like she has you trained well
Sad part is that 45mins before that she walked right through there. The old lady had gotten her feet wet crossing because she slipped of a rock into the water so I figured what the hell I mine-as-well. That and there was no way I was going to be able to carry the dog and balance on the rocks. It got to the uppper 60's today so as soon as you got out of the water it wasn't bad but when your feet were in there it was cold as crap.
