both have been known to build similar nest.. I would say bird since its not heavily covered by dense forest

Me neither.

Looks like an oreole bird nest. But I have never seen one in this part of the world.

Didn't see any bees arround.

So I guess I'll keep an eye on it & see if the builder returns.

to me it looks like a wasp/bee nest that was overtaken by those tent caterpillars, like the thick spider webby parts.

A shorn scrotum! I believe its a bird nest, if you look closely, it looks like it has string put in there, and made with mud similar to a bee hive

I'm going with bird nest.
The texture of a bee's nest is much smoother than this.
