Default Need some help cleaning my camera.

I have a bit of a problem. I left my camera in my truck last night. Big mistake I know. So anyways. I went to get it out cause I had an Idea for my daily photo. Well when I got the camera out it was all fogged up with condensation and it was cold. So I let it dry out. It's been about 2 hrs since I last messed with it. I went to take the picture and it's still foggy. I'm just assuming it's gonna need more time to air out. It basically says the photo is too dark to take the pic. It focuses and the settings are right. Any Ideas?

Take it to your nearest Ritz camera shop and they will charge you $15 bucks to take care of it.

I don't know if it is harmful to cameras but I know that putting it in a container with rice will suck the moisture out. It worked for my phone and watch.

If it's a point and shoot the rice is a good idea. If it's a SLR, put the lens in rice, but just let the body air dry.

Interesting idea. Did you put your phone on a container and filled it with rice?

Put the electronics, whatever it is, in a container and surround it with rice. The rice acts like the silica gel packets and it absorbs the moisture. If you drop your phone in water you just have to take the battery out right away and stick it in rice for a day and as long as the power was off and it didn't fry it should start right up.

You should have left it in the camera bag and let it acclimate. The condensation will go away after a few hours.

The same thing can happen when you take your camera out of your warm house into the cold air outside.

The rice idea mentioned above will work though.

Yeah, I've dropped a phone or two in water and been pushed in enough pools by stupid friends that I couldn't keep buying new phones and needed to try and salvage the old ones. It works great as long as you don't fry out the phone before you put it in the rice. I found the idea online. The best thing to do is to immediately take the battery out, Put the phone (watch, camera, etc.) in a container with rice for 24 hours. Make sure not to turn it on to check on it because of the risk of it being fried.

So, after 24 hours... it should work just fine?

Most likely. I mean obviously I can't guarantee it to work, but as long as you didn't fry your phone or device before you got a chance to shut it off then this process should get all the water out so you can turn it on again and be ok. I've dropped my phone with it on into a pool, but got it out within 5 seconds and turned it off before the water reached the circuit board. i left it in rice for 24 hours, turned it back on and it worked for a year after that until I sold it. Same thing with my watch. I got water underneath the seal somehow and it came right out after a couple hours.

If you feel you got a lot of water in there you can try longer than 24 hours, but that should be about all you need.
