Default EFIX Data?

Ok, David, or anyone, how do you find where EFIX data is? can you tell me what kind of camera I used to take this pic of a fish I caught today?

Or my pic from the BWCA quite a while ago?

EXIF (EXchangeable Image Format) Extensions to image file formats that hold the camera settings used to take the picture. Developed in 1995 by JEIDA for JPEG images, EXIF data was added to TIFF, RAW and other formats later. Most digital cameras support EXIF and save the data in the file headers. However, when an image is edited, the EXIF data may be automatically removed by the software. An EXIF reader is a utility that is used to read and display the EXIF data from an image file.

Below is one way to read the EXIF data from an image file if the data is avaliable. Also there are other ways to read the EXIF data.

For the fish shot: Canon Powershot AS3100 IS camera.

For the lake shot: Olympus Stylus 720SW camera.

Very nice, good job guys
Mike how do you get into that window that has that info? nice to see my copyright info in that first one. I set it so that it is automaticly in every pic I upload with PSE.
I didn't even know if it was working until now.
The lake shot is a few years old so it doesnt have it.

One quick way is to right click on the downloaded photo, click Properties, then view details.

Or another way which gives even more info is to use the program Opanda. It reads all the EXIF data embedded in the photo.

^^ Ditto! ^^
I use a free program called Opanda 2.3.
There's are several EXIF viewing programs out there. Some are free and some aren't.

There's even on online EXIF program.

Pretty much all digital camera's now have EXIF data. Even the camera's on some cell phones.

I like using an EXIF viewer as it let's me see the camera settings of a photo to learn how it was taken.
