Other night shots I left out from last night!!
Here are the other shots I left out from last night. I thought I'd make a separate post and post all of them in here. Comments suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you all for the kind words. And especially to Mike for helping me fix my camera. Enough chat onto the photos.
Photo: #1 I wanted to see what this would look like in B&W, so let me know what ya'll think. Also in the first photo, the wind was blowing a lot and so thats why in the water it looks blurry.
Photo = #2
Photo: #3
Photo #4 In this photo I wasn't trying to get the building, but I was trying to get the lights on and around it to show up more. So thats why the building is darker.
Photo : #5
Photo: #6
Thank you for looking at my photos and leaving some feedback.

Re: Other night shots I left out from last night!!
love the B&W a 4 or six point star filter would help with the street/walking path lights (edit out the building in the back) distracting.

Thanks, but Tensilver has a star filter and all it did was glare the lights. Maybe if he'll see this, he will post a example pic.

A star filter is good if you only have one or two points of light in the photo. I didn't take a picture of that building with the star filter but here's one that I did as a test.
Dan, You could bring some of the detail of the building in photo #4 using NX2's shadow protection slider.

Re: Other night shots I left out from last night!!
Pic #1 is now my desktop wallpaper. Awesome pic, along with #2.
On #4, what's the bright area on the upper part of the building that looks like a traffic control tower? Kinda interested on knowing that..
I like #6, but if it were me, I would have aimed the camera a bit lower. IMHO.
Awesome pics overall. Makes me want to save money to get a real camera, and throw away my crappy one. lol.

Much better! Next you need to adjust the contrast a little to help with the washed out look. Follow up by zooming in to 100% and sharpening the image. If you see lots of grain then you went too far with sharpening so back off a tad.

Ok I was wondering why the photos looked so grainy. Thanks Mike.

You're welcome!
It may be even easier if you use NX2 for your adjustments. hint hint

Re: Other night shots I left out from last night!!
NX2 integrates with ViewNX and the controls/sliders are the same so you should be able to pick it up pretty easy.
