Default Help with night photos

I need some help with my night pictures. They are blurry. I used a tripod.

If you need photo info let me know.

if your camera supports it, use a remote. maybe set a lower shutter speed and use auxiliary lighting if you deem it necessary.

Or use the timer

I have that problem in daytime, usually caused by the objective trying to focus on the brightest point, which wasn't the truck (or something reflecting on the truck).

I don't know why, but placing the camera in a very slight different angle usually fixes that.

I'm sure someone else has a better solution, though.

What camera are you using....does it have a manual mode....if it's an auto point and shoot..makes it a little harder unless you can focus and zoom yourself.......

if you're using a SLR camera things are much easier....

Tripod is a great idea as you will have a slower shutter speed...however you will also want to adjust the focus, get it set where you want it, (the truck is clear) then adjust the shutter speed until you have the desired picture...the longer the shutter stays open, the more light it will pick up....the faster the shutter speed, the less light (darker picture)....using a nice off camera flash or bounce flash will also help you from getting "hotspots" showing up on the body of the truck.......

The higher the F stop the less light you let in. The lower the F stop the more light you let in. Also lower your shutter speed. It will also allow more light to come through the lens.

Here is a few of my night shots.

A tripod is a given. A good tripod is even better. Then you either need a cable release or remote release so you don't wiggle the camera. Set your apreture wide open & slow the shutter accordingly. Use spot metering. Read the brighter areas & then the darker areas, then set it accordingly. ISO shouldn't be lower than 400 & not much higher if you can keep from it.

Just ordered a remote yesterday for the camera. The Tripod I got is a pretty good one. it is really steady.
