yeah, but up around here(WA/ID) that perception of diesels has grown exponetially over the last couple years. Most everyone i know love diesels... maybe its just around here though.
as for your stats, no clue on the horses, but i if its a 4x4 i would anticipate ya on getting about 25-30 mpg with that diesel depending on driving habits and such.
