I have an 89 ranger with a 2.3 and I am looking to put a 2.3 out of a 92 ranger in it. I was wondering if this is possible and if so, what I would need to do the change? (Wiring harness, computer, etc...) You know anything special...

They're the same truck so I would assume that they would be interchangeable except for maybe sensors. The blocks are the same so it should bolt right up. I did a google search and came up with a couple quotes.

"They should be the exact same. Accessories and stuff mounted in the same place, ect.
And both are roller cams."

"the engine itself should be the same, but there are different sensors involved, the '92 should have a MAF, and the '89 won't... oh, and use the '89 O2 sensor, or ground the 4th wire going to the '92 O2 sensor (the 4 wire will plug into the 3 wire plug on the '89, but it won't run good, BTDT)"

I would say if you have everything (computer, sensors, etc) then swap them all
