3.0L Eaton M112
well Tom Morana makes a Eaton M112 manifold for the 3.0L. It looks massive on top of the motor (he has a picture) he told me that he needs to make a custom fuel rail and that the supercharger itself is 6" tall so it might fit under the hood. its a 1.7L supercharger so its def plenty for the motor. If i do it i plan on running 7 psi or so. He told me not to go over 6 but we shall see! Im gonna have to do the head build with 1.8:1 roller rockers heavier springs and so on and so forth. Im sure i could easily get 250 out of this setup and it would look sick. Plus if my calculations are correct with the underdrive pulley and the stock m112 3.650 pulley you should get around 7psi at 5800rpm. around 4000 rpm you will be pushing around the same CFM that a stock 3.0L vulcan puts out at 5800

Why dont you just go ahead and get one of his long block complete 3.0 engines that is stroked to 3.3? If you do that your internals are forged and ready for more boost... and you would have nice aluminum block and heads instead of the cast iron that the 3.0 is made out of.

yep! thats why you need better heads and forged internals!

Why spend all that money and not upgrade your rods and crank. 7 psi is going to explode your stock internals I would be afraid to go over 3psi on stock

actually 7psi will not explode my stock internals. the stock internals are good for 250whp. Wheat runs a centrifugal supercharger hard at 7psi making 246whp. you can run 5psi on stock tune with larger injectors compensating. is it the smartest idea? NO!!!. 7psi from a m112 and 7 psi from anything else are pretty much the same. Im not going to buy morana heads i will have them locally done for 500 bucks then install the heavier springs and retainers myself. should cost 600-700 bucks. you calculate psi from the excess CFMs the motor is taking in and divide it by the max CFM a stock 3.0L brings in then multiply it by 14.7. a m112 at 7psi will put out 450CFMS compared to the stock 306 CFMS... Excess CFMS=144 144/306*14.7= 6.9psi. the motor will handle it. Stock head gasket holds 20psi for a short time. 7psi all day. the Whipple guys were running 12psi. And a guy with a turbo was running 9psi (this was stock of course) If you need more information. here it is http://rogueperformance.com/sc.html
And if i was going to put $5800 into a new motor i would be getting the 3.0L duratec swapped in with a t-56 adapted to it running 400whp and 350tq all day. for reliability i would put Pauter rods and Weisco pistons in and could easily get 450-475whp

the m112 is overkill go with a m90 and then the injector rail will work the hood will work and you will still be able to push 15psi if your motor can take it.
I have done 3 3.0 with the m90 and they all worked out great i have also done the m112 on the 4.0 and that is even big for my 4.0 I had a m90 on it and worked great i only went for wow factor and a little cooler temps when pushin the boost ont eh 4.0

but there are no m90 intake manifolds or kits for the 3.0L.... if there were then yeah id go m90... but since not.. kinda hard for me to run it. if i had the tools to make a intake manifold i would but i don't so there is the problem. until someone could make me a intake manifold for a reasonable price. then im either gonna run the m112 or TKT centrifugal supercharger. what type of power did those m90 3.0L put out?

ok so i have an 06 ranger i am looking to do this conversion to, i know i need to build the internals, heads, and get the kit for the supercharger, i was wondering if i needed an adapter on the crank pulley to run the belt drive on the supercharger. also what other parts would i need for the install? all help is greatly appreciated as i am currently gathering the funds to make this install possible... ...even though it will probably take a couple years to get the parts for the fact of having 2 kids to take care of and also the regular bills accompanied with that stuff...
