Default RP Caster Install

well..the RP caster kit arrived the other day so I figured I should start ripping into the truck.

Progress so far....I did get hung up on the main fuel line into the fuel rail though. The adapter that Ron sent in the kit was about 5 sizes to big and there is no way that it was going to fit. Went down to the local fitting shop and had them make me up a piece that worked pretty slick. The 6' An line to the main fuel line and the fuel block was also way to short....luckily I had some braided line that was the right length...no an fittings though

And I picked up a canopy for the truck last week.... doesn't really belong in this forum, but whatever

Well Ron is a great guy to deal with and way helpful via email and phone...the instructions with the kit however, might be considered slightly vague in spots

So I had some headaches along the way....but it's running

Fired the truck up tonight and took it for a spin to get some 91 octane in it. So far so good

Updated photos...truck is now running pretty well at 6psi with new bearings in the snout and a 2.8 pulley. I still have a couple of small details to finish up when I get the time

2.8 pulley

AFE dry intake

Ultra gauge and Autometer boost/vacuum

Thanks...I wasn't to concerned with hiding the wire behind the a pillar since it tucks into the gauge pod...I might tidy it up at some point though

At idle with the AFE
took a quick driving vid...for an auto 4x4 with 265/75's it goes ok. Oddly enough it seems to pull hard around the 120km/h mark.

headed uphill

This morning the truck was running fine, no boost issues. Went out tonight and I can't make boost...F*CK me.

So according to my autometer gauge I'm idling at just shy of 20inHg, and the idle is stable....so I'm guessing that I don't have a vacuum leak.

I'm thinking about putting it back to stock tomorrow....it's not worth the hassle...

Anyone interested in a RPI kit?

If you put it back to stock and want to get rid of the kit, let me know. I am thinking of putting one in my 2007. So i may be interested in the fuel rail and such that you had to have made too. It may work on mine.

well it's been a dead thread for awhile now...
update to my boost woes turned out to be the splines on the snout shaft wore down and the shaft wasn't turning the coupler. So I picked up another m90 and swapped in the new "used" shaft.

I also went back to the 3' pulley since it appears to be easier on the shaft than the 2.8.

Not sure if it's balance, weight, diameter or a combination of things, but the 3' pulley is way more stable. Might pick up a 2.9 and see how that works
