| | Fuel From H2O?
So a guy I work with is really into emissions testing/checking codes and has discovered this device.... Fuel From H2O
The link worked for me at work today but it's not now here at home... anyway... I don't know all the details of it (just know he wanted to buy the truck one and I had to explain to him he needed the car one) but he just installed it on his truck and says he feels more power now. He has an '01 Ranger 4.0L V6 4x4 and has it mounted right between where the tow hooks go (not sure if that matters)... it's really kinda crazy... tubes everywhere in the engine and everything... essentially it's supposed to use H2O to generate hydrogen energy for the truck at a level that's low enough not to damage the engine (from my understanding).... just thought I'd throw it up here for everyone to weigh in....

hey. just wondering if there's an update as to how the system is working out for the guy?

Last I heard it was still going great... If I see him tomorrow I'll try to ask...

^^ Yeah... that's what I've heard... initially he reported an increase in MPG but today he was saying he wants to swap the unit for a bigger one. Problem is he currently has the one listed as the right size for his engine so wouldn't a larger one "water down" the engine?? He has some hairbrain reason why his MPG isn't up but between his stuttering and attitude I tuned him out before I could get all the details.
I dunno... either way IMO if they aren't a factory option or atleast not on a significant number of trucks then I have no interest taking that kind of a risk with my engine.

if it actually does create the hydrogen gas i see no reason why it would not work. 35% increase in efficiency is kinda hard to believe but it may work. hydrogen gas does burn and is volatile.

Yes it creates hydrogen which does burn. But the claimed increases in mileage are total bull.

Hate to bring back a post thats a few months old but the idea of using electrolysis to break H20 down to hydrogen and oxygen in order to decrease fuel consumption is plausible.
The main reason I bring this up is that currently in an engineering capstone class that I am attending our project is to design a golf cart that runs on such a system and test how well it works. Hopefully by the end of April I'll have some real evidence as to rather this works or not. Like I said in theory it should, and even if its not a 35% increase I'm sure most of us would not mind even an increase of half that much in fuel efficiency.

UPDATE:
My salesman has had this system in his 2001 4.0 V6 4x4 since I started this thread. He is still saying he gets better gas mileage (by about 1-2 mpg I think) but I've tried not to get into it too much... haha

The BS of this whole HHO generator for vehicles is the benefit. It does not and never will create enough hydrogen to reduce gasoline consumption. Lets pretend it adds 1mpg, which is a totally made up number. You would never recoop the amount of money and effort you spent on the HHO system to do it. Total waste of money.

Hydrogen is a joke. Ethanol is a joke.
It's sad that our political leaders are trusted with telling the rest of the public scientific facts that they don't understand. It's also a shame the masses believe them.

Well not that i want to defend politicians but they have never suggested using these silly rip-off things to improve fuel economy. They're all still lying *******s, just not as it relates to this. That I know of anyway.

corn-based ethanol is a joke. you can make ethanol out of almost any plant, they just chose corn because its being heavily subsidized by the government to keep farmers happy. poplar trees can be used and the results are far better than ethanol. sugarcane can also be used and its being used in brazil, their fuel consumption is largely sugar cane
