Default Custom hybrid motor

I'm thinking off putting an EFI head and intake on my carberator bottom end and running a megasquirt computer so I wouldn't have to run a stock computer. Sounds like a lot of work but I can do it. Can I just mount an EFI intake on my head or do I need a EFI head to? Please help. I might go turbo too.

EFI intake would certainly work; but the problem is that a 4.0L or 2.9L head or intake wouldn't fit on your engine with out some kind of modification. I haven't had the two side by side to compare, but I can certainly tell you that they are not compatible. 2.8Ls were never EFI.

Your best bet would be to add fuel injector bungs into your current intake manifold. You would have to add a TB and make a 90 from the intake to the TB for TPS. Need IAT, coolant temp sensor, MAS (or MAP?), compatible o2 sensor, etc. Not sure what kind of support MS has, doesn't that have a TFI distributor? It would seem that would be compatible.

IMO, best bet is a duraspark conversion if you want to get rid of the feed back system.
