Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to swap a 4.0 OHV with a 4.0 SOHC? I want to put a supercharger on my ranger but the engine is getting up there in miles. Oh and I have a 96' Ranger. Also I heard you can put a V8 in a ranger also. Would that be a Bronco engine? Would it be better to just put a V8 in it or a supercharged V6? Which would be faster & longer lasting? Sorry im kind of a noob at engine upgrades. Please help & Thanks

V8 should last longer just because idk what a superchargers life is and as far as i know i think the 4.0 sohc should just bolt in i mean its the same series of motor so

oh ok thanks. I talked to a mechanic today & he said I could put a 302 mustang engine in my ranger I just have to make sure its the same year & stuff. So I think im gonna do that later on, but Im gonna wait atleast 40k more miles until i get a new engine.
