Default Adding turbo to '97 2.3

Hello All,
I want to turbo my '97 2.3, and would like to use the engine I currently have and just rebuild it with forged pistons. What do you have to have to be able to use the current electronics with a turbo? I know where a turbo coupe engine is that I can get for a reasonable price, but i don't know how many mikes are on it, and it doesn't have an engine wiring harness or computer. I'd rather not buy parts I don't really need. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Adam, Glad you found us. Have fun and enjoy FRF. Most members drop a 5.0 in thier rangers. 2.3, 3.0 4.0 not worth the price with very little return on HP. Good luck.

Thanks.
Well, I've been on the fence between using a 2.3t, or a 5.0. I have alot of the engine parts already to build a 5.0, but where I would save money on engine parts, I would have to spend on suspension and driveline parts and modification. Going 2.3t I could save some money by keeping the current driveline components for a while, but I have to find engine parts. So, it's been kind of a wash between one or the other up to this point. If I do this swap, it will probably become my daily driver also, so fuel mileage is a variable for me as well.

2.3t can pull good power for not much money. Go to the turbo ranger forums, they have a list to get you to 300hp. Not very active, but alot of info.
