That doesn't make sense to the situation.

Since you are standing by "my deep pockets and knowledge", then why aren't you using these resources and installing a 3.5 instead of a 5.0?

"my" as in "my first comment", maybe instead of only looking for issues in one post you might try reading the rest of them.

I did, and responded accordingly. Both times I might add.

I mean I've never seen the 3.5 in person, but I was just saying from a logical stand point that the 3.5 is .5l of displacement bigger than the 3.0. In my head it made since..... Oh well.
Haven't people put a turbo on a 3.0?

people have turbo'd the 2.3/2.5 and there's been a couple supercharged 4.0's. Actually if you look hard enough you can find a 3.0 supercharger kit

Re: 3.5 eco boost!?!
I can not see why you would want to purchase a motor and then do all the custom fab needed to use it at a rough guesstimate of 3x what your Ranger is worth.
The 3.0 is not a cost effective build for what you have to spend and what you get in return. What appears to be the most well documented and generally accepted idea is to use a 5.0 From a 2001 or earlier Explorer / Mountaineer. Generally you need a complete truck so your not out searching for parts and other shit. You will still have custom work involved to the best of my knowledge at least the exhaust (Unless you can find the right headers which are not usually easy to locate) and everyone seems to run into some snags some ppl have more some have less. It is probably the simplest (relative term here) way to give your Ranger a swift kick in the ass for power without getting to a cost point where you wonder why you didn't just buy a fast car or truck to begin with.
I see already built 5.0 swap Rangers in varied conditions selling for about what you probably spend doing the whole thing selling pretty regularly here in FL. As for how good their build is who knows they are selling for a reason.
I had a Mountaineer and was pretty heavily looking into the swap, but I went a different direction because my truck runs good as it is. If I wanna go fast I'll just save what it would cost to make this happen and go looking for a sports car.
If you have deep pockets and really want to throw $$ at the 3.0 This link has legit parts, but makes no promise of turning it into a power monster http://www.moranav6racing.com/catego...?CategoryID=36

A 2.3/2.5 would be the most bang for your buck since you can get forged pistons from sealed power for about fifty dollars, turbo manifolds run about 150 on ebay, and turbos can be found fairly cheap on ebay. 800 for a tuner with custom tunes.if you diy on most of it you get a stout little engine for $3,000.

Re: 3.5 eco boost!?!
I too was told the 2.3 was a great platform to build a nice turbo motor. Read its not hard at all to get 300hp out of one without massive mods internally and using a dodge diesel turbo. Also why do I never seem to see anyone suggest the 351 Windsor motor?? I know back in the day it was a great upgrade for many 302 cars that or some spent the coin to add the Windsor heads to a 302 block.

the 351w is possible, but it's a tad bigger than the 302w, and requires just a little more squeezing the fit it.

I'm having a hard time seeing that a 2.3 can spool up a holset before redline.
