Most common swaps are definitely a 302 or 4.0L. I've also seen a 351W, a 4bt cummins, and even a 6.0 powerstroke. I've also seen en episode on powernation that they put an ecoboost into an F100 so I bet it would fit in a ranger despite having a hard time of doing so. Any swap is possible, it just depends how deep your wallet is
