Engine and Trans swap...will it fit?
Hi, all.
I recently wrecked my ranger, however the engine and trans is still good. It's a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 2.5l 5 spd Manual My question is - Will the engine and trans in my truck fit in a 1998 Ford Ranger 4x4 V6 Auto? Could I just drop it in and have everything line up? Same harness? Thank You in advance!

Yeah, it would fit. However, here's the issue. You would need to convert the truck to RWD. So more work than you probably would want to put into it. Between swapping computers, wiring harness, suspension components, trans mounts, driveline, pats system shenanigans, etc.
