Default 302 bolt on to 3.0 transmission

I have a 2000 ranger 4x4 that just has alot of miles on her. Its a 3.0 and i was just wondering if a 302 (5.0) would bolt up to my 3.0 tranny. And if 4x4 would hold up if i didnt mash it down alot. Thanks

get a donor explorer 5.0 4x4 and use a 4406 transfer case out of an f150 97-03. Use the transmission from the explorer. It bolts up to the stock crossmember. Look up 5.0 4x4 ranger on google.

If its an auto then yes you'd need a bell housing for the 5.0 bolt pattern but it would not hold up very well and i doubt you'd find a PCM that could run that combo. Definitely not if its a 5 speed they barely handle the 4.0 output. Your best bet is to use an expo tranny or a m5od-r2 from an f150 or a t-5 from a mustang.

Changing up to the m5 out of a f150 will keep the same shifter location.. driveshaft modification will differ on the tcase you use. Use a 1356 from a bronco and the rear flange will be correct. Front shaft will have to be new.
