What is your engine doing that you are swapping or rebuilding? Those engines don't really have any common issues besides cavitation.

We bought it from a friend of my dads and he said it had a knock. And I guess they would start it every so often. Well when we got it we tried to start it and it will turn over and hit like a bad spot. My dads thinking it's got a stuck injector and it's filling the cyl.

the water pump might spin the opposite way on the v belt setup. Just something to look out for.

If he rebuilds it it's gonna stay v belt like it is now. Just need to figure out what's wrong with it

play around with it and it'll probably run... the one that was originally in my buddie's truck was running on 7 cylinders the entire time he had it, had 500k miles on it, and probably woulda kept running if he didn't drive it like a moron. good reliable engines with great low end power.

Yeah we got it to pull a trailer. It has low 100k on it. Just barely broke in.

Thought about selling the truck. Now hopefully later in the week we are picking up a 94 f350 dually with the idi turbo that we are gonna swap the motor and front clip over.

Ended up getting a 93 idi motor from a citrus grove boom truck. Only 60k on it for $400. In the process of pulling the old motor and installing the new one.

I feel like that can't be that hard of a swap

Sounds like a good deal to me

The motor I got is a complete motor ready to drop in. Minus the Ac compressor. Hopefully it will be done soon.

It's up and running now. Replacing one of the glow plugs. 3 were bad, the old motor had 2 good Ones.
