within the last could of weeks the governer of oregon has decided to rename the main highway here in eugene from "the beltline" to the "randy pape beltway" for one i'm not wild about the name change, and i know sometimes you can't change it, but my opion, and about 7,000 people on facebook think its a huge mis-use of state funds, it is gonna cost in the neighborhood of $250,000... money that could be used in road maintence, or what not, not just renaming 10 miles of highway to somene just because he did a little something for the community... check out the groups on facebook

Lol yeah, My Dad worked for Washington State DOT, he always hated it when they pulled that kind of crap. He didn't understand why it would cost so much for a sign, a road cone, etc. lol He still gets mad at it and he's retired

That is only the cost to the state. That doesn't take in to consideration the cost to the business owners and making everyone's GPS wrong.

Randy Pape' is a good guy and all but this state is complaining about not having enough money and increasing taxes every chance they get. $250,000 could put a couple of teachers in classrooms or a couple of cops on the streets and that would be a better use of the money.
