I could have gotten mine that young. But there weren't any leaders or boys with experience anymore. I needed to stick around and train people

Every Scout should watch this. Of all the years I've watched and admired Mike Rowe...I never knew he was a fellow Eagle Scout. I wish I could have been at this Jamboree to see him make this speech

It's about 30 minutes, but worth it

You can thank the US Justice System for that. Too many pedophiles in groups like that.

lol, j/k. I was in Scouts. Started as a Tiger, worked my way up to Boy Scouts. Crossed the bridge and everything. But the pack I was recommended to join was full of 16+ year old kids who loved to harass the younger kids. My parents said fuck that, and that was the end of my scouting venture.

I went all the way through cub scouts, made it to Life and then started doing stupid teenager shit and decided I was "too cool" for Boy Scouts. Wouldn't have taken me a whole lot more to get my eagle, but when you're a stupid teenager your priorities get fucked. Still wish I would have stuck it out :/

I have heard much of this on Glenn Beck when Mike was on.
But I wish that I had gone to see him with the scouts.
I purchased His poster via ebay just now, and his other personal responsibility poster. They will be hung in the Preparation Room at the Funeral Home I work for.
I am a skilled worker, and I get it!

LOL!!!!

My troop was the one that took the "problem children"

My last year before becoming a leader, (18) we took all the milk crates and piled them up in front of the door of the lodge of the summer camp's leaders lodge. Then we duct taped down the button for the air raid siren (for emergency's only) un-plugged the wiring and set it up on a timer... for 4 hours before wake up...

priceless......

now as a leader........... i have to look...away....:d ontknow::d ontknow::d ontknow:and not knowwhat happend...

Got mine in 2009 at 15 years old. Very glad I did it then and didn't wait until I was a junior or senior in high school. It never would have gotten done.
