Default Mustang Chassis, older and newer?

Could anybody tell me the differences in the chassis between say a 1986 Mustang, and a 2000 Mustang? If any?

A co-worker suggested finding a good condition 1980s Mustang Chassis and putting in coil over springs for the car I will be building. It may be easier to find a cheap early 2000s Mustang for cheap but need to know how the chassis of the different years differ to find out if a chassis from that time period will work just as well.

Default Re: Mustang Chassis, older and newer?

My guess would be that the newer mustang chassis is longer, longer wheelbase and weigh more than a fox chassis. There's at least a 1,000 lb difference between foxes and new edges.
