Re: ar 15 questions
What kind of handle (or grip is the proper term) are you looking for?
Take a look at this link.
http://www.midwayusa.com/find?&sortb...mensionid=9759
Also in order to put one of these on you are going to need a hand guards that has a bottom rail.

Re: ar 15 questions
My dad tried mounting a grip on the forearm like that, but he took it off fairly quickly. He preferred the light/laser combo to hang below & have his hand right up against it where the on/off switch is located.

Re: ar 15 questions
the only thing is that hand guard says its for a carbine version. does that make a difference? and if im right that locking collar just drops down and the old handguard pops off and the new one pops on. the gas tube wont be affected right?

Re: ar 15 questions
Go with magpul products, I wont use anything but them. Except for my yhm freefloated quad rail, and the trijicon acog im lookin at. But other than that, flip sights, handguard, foregrip, and im looking at a new stock and grip.

Yours is a carbine, you can get longer hand guards if you want, you just Jeez to get a new low profile gasblock so the quad rail will fit over it. That's what I did. I got the lightweight midlength free floated quad rail from YHM. Awesome brand check them out.

Well spoken words. I hate band wagon people. Personally, my ar is a mutt aside from the gun its self. I've got everything from larue tactical, magpul, iweapons, mako, hogue, edot and tapco.

Carbine version is 16" barrel which most modern AR-15's are. The original AR-15 and the M16 has a 20" barrel.
Personally I have Yankee Hill rails on my AR. I have handled the UTG rails and for the money they are not bad.

Apparently it has been discontinued. But there is always fleabay.

I bought magpul because its a quality product, not because someone told me to. And there angled foregrip are way more comfortable than and other foregrip I have put in my hand. So im not just another person telling someone to do what everyone else does. I saying there a nice company to deal with that makes quality stuff

Re: ar 15 questions
Magpul or UTG.....just like Colt AR15 and any other recent manufactured AR15, you pay $600 for one and $1300 for the other, why? Cause one has a pony (Colt) on the magwell and the other dont. Well worth the $700 difference. Colt makes a sloppier gun but it still costs more, go figure?
Most of the high dollar stuff seems to be for nothin more then for someone to go to the range and treat their supposed to be battle rifle like a peice of fine china and use it for bragging rights. I see nothin wrong with gettin the cheapest AR now days, and for most part any of the cheaper grips, rails and other crap that allows you to attach microwave ovens and TV's to the gun. Payin 220% more for a name doesnt make sense to me, if it were genuinly worth it, yes, but in most cases, its not. Start talkin optics and such and then your into a different world.
