Nothing is easy anymore. If it makes sense to us, it's usually backwards to somebody else which sounds about normal these days, L.O.L.

That's how you know you've drank too much, you ran out, L.O.L.

I'm going to keg and naturally prime my beer this time. Imperial black rye ipa should be on tap in a couple of weeks. Oxy cleaning the keg now, then iodiphor, then beer!

What kind of oxy cleaner are you using on your kegging system?

so, it's oxy cleaning, iodiphor cleaning, and then beer with priming just like you would in bottles? does the first glass or two have a lot of settled yeast? (not that it's a problem lol)

Yea, and I don't always oxy clean them, this keg had "beer" in it for 8 years or so so its getting the oxy clean.

I do get some sediment on the first couple of pulls but that's it.

I'll be using my Purple Power citrus based cleaner. Any cleaner that's citrus based usually is the absolute best cleaner you'll ever see.

That's alot of cleaning just to do beer. I don't know why beer has to be extremely complicated. I may be changing suppliers here shortly. My kettle is finished and ready to ship already through Brewhaus. June 3rd will make 60 days since I've ordered my still and they're telling me that it may be another 2 months before I get it which is unacceptable.

That's not too bad at all. Do you use an autosyphon when you bottle?

Its really not much cleaning at all, iodophor just needs 1 min to sanitize, and its no rinse.

Citrus based cleaners won't sanitize. Also I do this so I don't catch an infection and screw up my beer.

I autosiphine to a bottling bucket that has my sugar solution in it and then use a bottling wand to bottle off the bucket. If it goes into a keg it is just auto siphoned to the keg.

I sterilize instead of sanitizing. People tend to use too much sanitizer and you get the runs really bad. Sterilizing instead sanitizing results in a better quality brew imo. The citrus based cleaner really works extremely good on cleaning my tower packing (it's 100% pure copper). If you eat alot of fast food like McDonald's, Arby's and similar places and you have the craps really bad afterwards, it's because they used too much sanitizer. That autosiphon and bottling system sounds pretty sweet. I bet it makes things alot easier.

To sterilize I would have to use heat, which takes to long with bottles and would never work with corny kegs. Commercial breweries use iodiphor and have no problems with it so its good enough for me. Plus if used at the correct concentrations it has no effect on the person consuming the beer and no flavor is added to it.

Tell me about it, the house, yard and now school again. I need to get a couple more batches going so I have a nice pipeline to drink when I can't brew

That sounds like my schedule these days. I've pretty much got to make time just to get on here and to check email these days. I'm in high demand.

Yeah I got to thinking about that after my post. To sterilize I usually get a pot of boilng water and add a tea spoon of bleach. After doing that I usually end up washing everything again. I'm surprised that no one has came out with some kind sterilizing equipment for small bottles and pieces of equipment that's used frequently in homebrewing. What can you tell me about this stuff called One Step?
