P71 are nick named vomit comets from all the piss and vomit in them over the years. That's why I got a p74. I couldn't bring myself to own a p71 lol. Still a good panther tho enjoy it

It's a p71 has the package and everything but it wasent a patrol car. It was a (sorry for the spelling) Sargent take home car. Never had anyone in it nor never had high speed chases. It looks amazing. So shiney and powerful

And how do you know all this? I would never own a retired law enforcement vehicle because of the amount of idling those cars are subjected to.

When they went to digital od you can actually check the idle hours on the screen. Sometimes are auction you can get info on the cars use.

I wouldn't ever own one due to the low options on the car. Most don't have cruise control, they have rubber floor, crappy seats, holes all over the body and interior.

I prefer my p74 with every option possible and was babied by an older gentalmen. I work in an ER and the stuff I have seen in the back of a p71. Man nasty as hell

All papers and docs. Carpeting all over. No holes anywhere. It is a true police intercepter with all the power. It's a p71 but you'd think it's a p74 until you step on the gas

Love this. People think a p71 has magical power. My LX Sport has more he then a p71 due to tuning.

P71 has better coolers, radiator, alternator, and no rear resonators. Also stiffer suspension. And frame bracing. Higher speed gov, higher idle. That's it my friend. The only other thing is they usually received higher rear end gear ratio by order. Gets them out of the hole faster. My LX has the same as the p71 rear gear. There is no special hp numbers for the p71 it's still the same 235hp that comes in a standard p73.

Join crownvic.net and get educated plus they have tons of info for fixing issues. FYI keep and eye on your passenger rear floor if it gets wet the drain under the blower fan the seal went bad. It's extremely common. Just need to pull the passenger plastic inner fender and seal it all up. They have tutorial on the website.

I never said it was better. I just like the grill power and all the mods done to it. If you hit the gas to hard on the tale off you will spin the tires. Chirps when it up shifts
