Default My hotrod

Well its not streetable but it will be fun on the water!

1980 mantra hull
454 bbc
Berkely jet drive

Not sure on the specs of the motor i know it has hydro cam, lifters etc. Im calling the engine builder tomorrow to find out the ins and outs. Previous owner said its a mildly built 454, idle all day and snap when mash the throttle. Headers are ugly and rusting those are getting replaced. Interior will be next. Now i just hope my little ranger drags it around good.

looks like my uncle's old boat, you ought to have alot of fun with it! BUT they are very easy to get into trouble with, as my uncle found out the hard way.

Little history,

My Dad had a 1979 riveria with bbc that was pretty hot. It would run lil over 90mph. I grew up around that boat. This boat was his buddies from back when they used to race in lake class together. My grandfather bought this boat from my Dad's friend about 12yrs ago. My gramps got to old to run it. My gramps passed away about 3yrs ago. I was told i would get the boat but never did. Finally last week i asked my grandmother how much she wanted. She told me and i gave her the green. This boat means so much to me id of paid double for it.

My plan is just to restore it and keep it pretty mild. I called the guy who built the motor, he had records of it. It was built in 1988! Its setup to handle nitrous no problem. He said it has plenty of motor just needs a better jet drive.

As promised video and another picture!

Ran it today it did 72mph via gps. It had more but i had to let out, boat surprised me. When you hit it from a idle it literally jumps outta the water. Its a hoot to run, big adrenaline rush. I scared the hell outta my Moms boyfriend haha.

Ranger tows it great to, just need frame mounted hitch
