3.62 here in kansas where i am(shawnee), that was 2 days ago so im not sure if it has risen since then..lol. im glad i have the 4 banger..atleast get a few miles better in gas.

It's not about having a 4-banger, it's about having the better of the two 4-bangers...

If I go back to a stock tire size I can get up to 25mpg.

i was looking into getting a second ranger that was a 2.3 five speed reg cab just for the MPG's even though they aren't great they are better than what my V6 get's i found one on autotrader an 2001 With 155k miles for get this $3300! i wish i had the credit to go pick that up!

That's a horrible price for 155k miles...


You want a 2.5L, not a 2.3... 2.5 gets better MPGs and a bit more power...

I picked up my 2000 5-speed 2.5L for $1500 (needed ball joints...) with only 109k on the clock in great cosmetic condition..


There are much better deals out there and if you think 3.3k is good then you need to spend much more time searching lol.

Its a good deal for my area where rusted out trucks go for $2500 on CL. and the 2001+ 2.3 motors are the duratec motor's and they have more power than the old ones. I don't like the 2.5L i see a lot of ppl getting bad MPG's with them

agreed..i mean i got my 93 2.3 with only 86900 miles on it. I got lucky and the guy had it for $5000(cuz its custom and such) but i offered him $2800 and he took it. only thing it needs was the fuel sending unit replaced(easy after looking at it) and the temp gauge fixed(easy temp sensor fixed). so really i paid $3000 for hella nice ride. with low mileage.
