Default should i trade in the mazda truck?

Hey all,
Right now im facing a tough decision, im thinking of trading in my beloved '02 B3000, for a '05 mini cooper s, the truck is in fairly good condtion and ive done alot of work to it, (off-road lights,mustng dome light, sound system, lifted, skid plates, 06+ mirrors, light bar under the tail gate, mbrp turn down, new suspension, blue gauges)

Now the only things wrong with the truck as of right now is the check engine light is on due to the maf sensor, the abs kicks in randomly from the adjuster cable on the pass. rear drum brake being broken, the cluch will need to be replaced soon due to the throw-out bearing, and the truck is starting to rust at the wheel wells.

My truck has 115,000 and still has plenty of life in it, the mini has 75,000 on it and is going for 11,000

Im facing a tough decision right now fix the truck iv had for 4 years or try somthing new, ive been back and forth on my decision many time and figured id see what you guys think

nope. mini cooper s have timing chain tension problems. they blow motors easy

Is the truck/car your DD? You live in the peoples republic with me. The Cooper is not a good DD for us.

Is your truck 4wd?

Mini Cooper?????? The only thing smaller would be the Smart Car.
Lifted pickup to a tiny little car.....wow.

U have an 02 with rust around the wheel wells?? Dam..I live in snowy and salty Minnesota king of rust state and my 99 doesn't have any rust around its wheel wells...

Keep the truck....fix the clutch and othe small issues....
Mini cars are for wussies...

this is my dd, and its a 4x4


the rust isnt really bad its surface rust for now probrally mostly from the factory plastic fender flares and its only on the rear wells

and the main thing i did like about the mini is the super charger

IMHO I would keep it. . Let us know if you need opinions with the repairs. Have you tried cleaning the MAF or inspecting the air intake?

You could hit the rust with por-15 and then put fender flares on it. They look pretty cool.

ive tried cleaning it, checking the connections, i found the person who had replaced my altenator had crushed the wiring harness to it.....which is why now im the only one who works on my truck
last time i ask someone to do somthing while im at work


i have already replaced the cam syncro @ 100,000 K....it started to squeek

It aint worth 11grand, I don't know the price on them, but thats way too much for a small car, they are way overpriced for what they are.

On another note, this isn't the best place to ask this question, most people here would say to keep the truck. Go to a mini forum and ask them, find out the common things to go wrong with the cost of fixing those things, and then determine on your own, if its worth it.

This^. POR-15 or Chasis Saver and then fender flares. Fixes the rust problem pretty easily.

Doesn't sound like you have any real major issues, and you only have 115k. Mine had more than that when I bought it!

I'd keep it. Mini Coopers just aren't worth it.

thats what im starting to think, when waiting for my altenator to come back from repair it killed me not to drive it (altho i was driving a pontiac grand am with no heat in the middle of winter)

Since you can work on your cars this is what you should do. Buy "something" like this http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/3525938437.html and register it in the summer. Then when you come back to earth and realize the HOT neighbor was really not flirting with you. You can always sell the miata. I would rather own your truck and that miata for $11,000 then the mini Pooper
