Post Fishing Advice?

I haven't gone fishing since I was a little kid in elementary school (4 or 5 years ago). Because of my young age, my grandpa would help with everything. He did get me a tackle box and I have some fishing rods available. I do know how to operate a fishing rod.

A lot of people on here are fisherman and I was wondering if I could get some tips and the necessary items needed for a successful trip.

I do not have a boat so I would be shore fishing.

Here is the equipment I have available: (not including fishing rods)

Ok thats what I thought but wasn't sure lol.

I don't really know. My friends go up to a place and just fish. I think they release the fish right after they are caught.

are you going to a lake, or pond, or river? each have differences in the species for each region.

I'm not sure about that either. I've never been able to go with my friends because I haven't had a ride up there, but now I have my licence.

if they are good friends, they will fill you in... and probly let you see what they use.

we always shared out stuff. if the bass wouldn't hit what i had with me, then somebody would let me use something of theirs...

i havnt caught a bass in awhile because i suck at fishing my local lakes but when i go up north, i use salted plastic worms on bass and they work really well.

but i prefer spinnerbaits over worms.

there are these little purple worms with white dots on them ('Creme' is the brand name) & they are absolutely phenomenal here during the summer haha! springtime here, you just about can't go wrong for bass & catfish

Ok. So by the sounds of it, I should be fine as long as my friends lend me some stuff?

you'd be just as likely to catch a fish as your friends lol! well, you gotta stay out of the trees hahaha!

there is a lot to pick up on, but after your first few days of good fishing, it'll reveal itself to you

----------

by the way, right now is a little cold for bass. you might search using google to see what other species of fish are in your area. that way you'll know at least... and then figure out when their spawn season is, etc... essentially 'when' & 'where' to catch 'what' with 'which' bait...

clear as mud?

Haha yes I understand. I have plenty of time to learn all that stuff because it's too cold to fish up here atm anyway.

I appreciate the help!
