Id basicly build a trophy truck out of a 83-88 ranger with my 351c.
Mid engine 4x4 35's excab 12in sub i already have the plans so if you got the money to waste ill be glad to find a milion $ worth of upgrades might put some into briding local gov to let me drive as a daily driver lol

Big gas engines are sooooooo underrated. A solid gas engine can do anything a diesel can.

Something off the wall would be a
56 Ford custom with a built 6.0 with a 6spd manual trans in it. Custom suspension at about 6inches of lift with 35in toyos on 18 inch rims. Definitely a one off custom.

I have 4:

1:

02+ level II ranger 5.4 or 5.4 swap, supercharged, dual flowmaster a out the back, 4 inch lift, 33's, blacked out headlights, all led blue interior lights, and a possible bull bar.

2: turbocharged 2013 for raptor (either black or silver)

3: 2012 F250 6.7 FX4 w/ EGR and DPF delete and single exit exhaust out the back and a suspension lift.

4: 2002 F250 7.3 FX4.

dont have to pricey taste. but...
1947-1953 Chevy 3100 truck. on a early 90's S10 frame with a 350 between the frame rails. laid out flat on the frame. triangulated four link. nice set of 20's..black with a chrome lip. chrome grill, bumpers, and headlight bezels to offset the ratrod look. tinted windows. custom sound system. 1/2 barrel for a gas tank. Led tails. HID headlights with halos.

Prefer a 7.3 but I'm with you on a ford engine with that body style would be kick ass.
