Re: Mudding Advice
just drive smart. anytime you go into the dirt, mud, rock, or even the road sometimes you take the risk of breaking. if you speed into a mud hole you take a risk of breaking a lot. take it slow be smart just know that you will get stuck some day and you will break some day to.
even though spidey 2011 hasn't done any of this doesn't meant that no one will if they follow his advice.
make sure you have someone with you and have a strap, if you are by yourself then a winch or a come along maybe in order.

I never said it can't happen. Just be smart and you minimize your chances. Like I said, you could throw a rod driving down the interstate. Shit happens. IMO, it's not a big deal as long as you don't drive like an idiot.

I'd love to see your truck go through stuff I've been through. I've seen the big jacked up muddin morons try to do what I do, and they fail miserably. They have no idea how to actually do it, and I'm betting you're the same way. You just put it in 4x4 and floor it into the mud. I don't break anything, and I don't get stuck. At least not in mud. lol.

I don't use 4wd. Untill I cant move then its 4 high 4 low is useless in my truck . But im not gonna sit here an argue with mr know it all

I can see how you break stuff on your truck lol. I wouldn't dare go into anything that deep with mine.

When I talk about "taking it easy" I mean going through mud that is not high at all and at a low speed. I don't think it could cause any harm because I am not going through anything deep.

Yup. Those kinds of trucks get stuck behind me all the time. Usually the mud I get in isn't quite that deep (although I have had it completely over the tires a few times), but it's usually in long stretches.
I still say if you're constantly breaking things, you're doing something wrong.

I keep a 20' tow strap and 2 20' chains in my truck. I have a clevis pin on my front hitch and a 5" drop flipped upside down on my back hitch. I also have a Hi-Lift jack with attachments in my toolbox. But I never floor it going into a mud hole. I'll keep it in 2hi until I dig myself down and can't go any farther. Then I'll put it in 4hi or sometimes 4lo. All I can say is if you ain't done it before, dont go by yourself. And just take it slow till you get comfortable with it. Have fun

I will be bringing a tow strap with me and a my cousin with a 1997 blazer. I'd probably be going 4hi at all times just to make sure I don't get stuck when I don't need to.
Thanks for the advice.

Yea mine sits in one of the storage compartments in the back. I also keeps some tow straps and a jumper cable. There is always that one person that doesn't know how to turn off their lights. lol
