My father is a Ham Operator, but I never got interested enough in it to get a license.

He was into radios while in high school in the mid/late 1930's, but did not follow up on getting a license until after he retired in 1982.

A friend invited me to get involved with the local club, so I plan to start studying for my license soon. After that, maybe I'll get into mobile operation

here is some pics of my radio install. on my 08 i tool the ipod/audio in jack cubby thingy off my dash and made a steel plate up to hold the CB and control head for the icom 208.

if you have some install pics of your radios in the trucks post em up!

the plate i bent up. hole with gromet for the cb antenna coax and power wires and the 208 control wire. also trimmed out a odd shaped hole so i could snap in the stock AUX in jack and its trim ring.

heres the setup for under the seat for the main radio body.

the comet mount i had layin around mounted it to the drivers jump door.

the last 16" is that tiny coax the rest is rg-58 size, its a premade setup from comet. snaked the coax through the rubber boot that the speaker wires run through.

cut a flat bar to bolt to the rear seat bolts, and bolted the main body of the ic-208 down.

heres the radios all finish installed, the speaker is a 12 dollar MFJ cheepie but works ok.
